Has anyone done this before or done something similar?
I've heard mixed reveiws for Locks of Love and wanted to get opinions. Are there other charities that take hair donations?
My hair is to the point were I'm ready to chop it off and I can't decided it I want to do it this week or wait until after I get back from vacation.
thanks in advance!

Re: Locks of Love?
My co-worker donated hers to the pantene charity for kids with hair loss-related illnesses. Not sure what the name of the specific program was, but that was the general gist of it.
Either way, you are helping folks out-- and that's a really noble thing to do! Thank you for making our world a little nicer.
Thank you for the responses! I think I'll look into these two charities.
I too am kind of hesitant due to the 'rumors' surrounding locks of love.
Did you guys go to a salon to get your hair cut? Did you have to explain how to do it?
I remember a while back one of my old friends donated her hair and the salon she went to did a cut and style for free for her since it was a donation. Is this usually the case?
thanks!
Yeah. Thats what I was thinking I should do.
I'm not good with asking for things and while its for a good cause, I still think I'd feel like a mooch for asking the salon to do it at no charge. Just wanted to check and see what the protocol was

I ended up at Salon Moxie in 2008 to get my hair chopped & donated to Locks of Love. I had originally planned to give my chopped hair to Pantene, but the salon participated in Locks of Love and they did a complimentary cut/style. I'm not sure if they still offer it, but you can check out both Salon Moxie & Samuel Cole.

Pantene Beautiful Lengths accepts donated hair.
