Our best friends (who live in Colorado) are going to be in town this week for a wedding. The wedding is on Friday, and they leave on Sunday, so on Saturday we're getting together for a bbq at my parents house.
So here's the deal - on Juy 17 we were going to have a birthday bbq for Ted, his bday is 7/19. Since we were doing two bbq's in a row Ted decided that we could celebrate his birthday at the bbq this weekend, since so many of the same people would have been at both. Ok, so that's fine. It works out for everyone.
Well today is our friend Dee's birthday, her & her husband are our friends from CO. So I decided we should celebrate her birthday also, and she just graduated from Nursing School so I also want to somehow celebrate that.
WHY? Why did I jump in with three feet when I only have two?!
You know what the real problem is? I'm a planner. Always have been - to a fault. You can't surprise me, I plan everything. I plan my own birthdays to a T. So I kind of expect people (Ted) to help out a little more with his own birthday, but of course that's not how he is. So I'm basically doing everything on my own, plus buying everything - which is getting expensive. Two cakes, decorations, food, drinks, plus a small gift for Dee, and Ted's present.
It will all be fine, I know it will. I'm just stressing out over whether or not everything will get done & done right.
Re: what did I get myself into?
I'll fly down and help you out
Seriously though, I know how you feel. I do the same thing. It will all work out perfectly and in the end you'll be so proud of what you accomplished. Don't be afraid to ask your friends/family for help though!! Seriously.

This was totally my mantra for my wedding! lol.
Yeah, I know it will all be fine in the end, I just hope I don't kill someone getting there. HAHA. I always want everything to be just perfect, specifically when it's for other people.
