MIA: My period!

I had my wedding on June 26th, and had been stressed for the past few months, with the final details and all. Anyway, I haven't had a period since probably March or April. I'm on BC and took several tests, so I'm not preggers. I was working out almost every day before the wedding and literally eating celery and carrots daily, so I'm guessing everything took a toll on my body. But has this happened to anyone else? I thought I would've had one by now!

Re: MIA: My period!

  • Any change in:

Diet, Weight Loss, Work out routine, and Stress can knock off your period. Just go see a doctor and they will either change your BC or give you a magic pill to bring on your period.

EDIT** and you shouldnt just be eating celery and carrots!

  • yes. people with certain forms and stages of eating disorders and/or malnourishment tend to have issues with their menstrual cycle.

  • Ditto Midge. Yes, your doc can give you a pill to get it started. I know when I was way irregular in my teens and before I went on the pill, my doc gave me some hormones to start me. I know I was as uncomfortable as hell when I was in that situation.

  • I'm back to my normal eating habits now, so maybe it will just awhile for my body to re-coop and catch up. I have a medical issue where I can't take certain types of hormones, so hopefully it will come naturally. TMI, but I'm a little nervous about how bad the first one can be after not having one for so long!!
  • not to be harsh, but i'd be more worried about the long term effects of the serious mistreatment of your body than the cramps of your first period.

you should go to the Dr. regardless. it could be a symptom of a more serious problem.

haha, I'm eating normally now!! :) Last night, I definitely enjoyed a big ol' bowl of ice cream :)

  • You probably still won't get it for a couple months.

If you went from eating celery & carrots to eating all kinds of regular food you are going to have another swing in weight (sorry but you will).  Losing or gaining weight can mess up your cycle.

  • We aren't your doctor.  Why would we know ANYTHING about what is going on with your body.  This is ridiculous.  Go talk to people who know/care what's going on.

Wow, I hope you never have a problem to discuss on here, 'cause I'll definitely be as brutually honest as you are.

  • LOL!!!  Please do be brutally honest with me.  I don't give what I can't take.  But, then again, I don't ask questions like this.
