another day, another missed opportunity

to go to the gym!

I'm LOSING MY MIND in my house! I'm pulling at my hair to find things to do in the house (it is WAY too hot to do anything outside besides water my plants!)- I've started scrapbooking wedding photos, cleaned my house from top to bottom, gone thrift store shopping for some diy projects (starting an old frame collage above the bed), and after I go home this weekend and grab my supplies, I'll start painting again next week! AND we're bringing up DH drum set, so I'll be teaching myself how to play as well... and I still end up sitting on my butt for a few hours at least! blech!

yet, with all the things I'm trying to do, I still can't seem to get to the gym!! I use to go almost every day, and since the wedding I'm lucky if I get there once a week! what the heck!

Re: another day, another missed opportunity

  • I totally feel you when it comes to going to the gym. I go to sleep every night saying I will go in the morning, and then I just dont. I will admit I am not quite as productive as you are.. I spend a lot of my day laying on the couch watching TV.

  • I just get up and exercise first thing in the morning, because I KNOW if I don't, it'll never happen! I wake up an extra 30 minutes before work so I can get in my run, and it's not too much lost sleep :) At least you are being productive though! Cleaning and shopping are good exercise in my book ;)

  • I'm the SAME WAY. I get so bored here all day and then when DH gets home I want him to entertain me and he's always tired. BOO! We haven't found a gym yet so I do yoga here at home and clean.....A LOT!

  • ugh, it's been getting worse! I use to care so much about going to the beach and looking good in a bikini.. now, I think.. well, I'm already married! who cares if I have love handles!

Not anymore though! I'm going in the morning from now on! Every morning!

Maybe we can start a weekly post where we all make a workout goal and then on Friday we can all comment with whether or not we've made it! It might help give us back a little motivation? Eh?

  • BTW, today was also a missed opportunity to start my thank you cards... whoops!
  • Megan, I hear you on both accounts - gym AND thank you cards!  I told myself that as soon as school ended I was going to have soooooooooo much free time to get all of this stuff done.  Yet I manage to feel busy all day long doing anything BUT the stuff that REALLY needs to happen.

  • it was quite literally torture getting me in the gym today. such sabotage on my body. Everytime I'm in there I keep thinking "I don't even have a wedding dress to fit into, this is BS"
  • I'm all for having a work out motivator group. I've been slacking between job hunting and being lazy, hehe.

    This is me as well.

  • I'm also slacking! I was doing so good eating right and exercising some before the wedding and now I've quit doing both. I cook HH every night so having all that food around doesn't help at all!

  • I vote yes to the exercise support group. I've been slacking big-time, and it showed when I stepped on the scale this morning. I'm 3 lbs heavier than I was for the wedding (that's a big deal when you're not quite 5'3" and have a small frame-- my jeans are tight!).

See, our problem is that we bought this treadmill and canceled our gym membership. Smart idea, right? We'll run all the time now! No time wasted driving there and back! No excuses! No monthly bill!

And then our air conditioner died, our apartment complex has done NOTHING ABOUT IT FOR A MONTH AND A HALF, and the temperatures soared into the 90's with oppressive humidity levels. So, yeah. Running not happening much. I took my laptop into the bedroom the other night (we have a window A/C unit in there) and did Pilates. But I need cardio...

This is me, too! I'm not even 5'1" (even though I claim to be!) and so even a pound or two is hard to hide, and even harder to lose! It stinks being so little : (

I say we start the support group! I'll put a post up on Monday where we can all write our goals for the week, and then Friday night I'll put up another one where we can write in if we made it!

    yay!
