I want DH to go to India!

So DH has a coworker getting married in India on August 22. It's an arranged marriage, this guy has been given potential brides for the past 3 years but hasn't really been interested in it. I think he's become pretty Americanized. Anyway, he's finally found a bride who doesn't mind that he eats all types of meat, rides a motorcycle and is fine with moving here. Lol!

The wedding has happened pretty quickly, they just got "engaged" a month ago and Arek and his coworkers are invited. I told him he should go! 1) He doesn't want to leave his pregnant wife and 2) He doesn't want to spend the money. I just checked flights and they're only a little over $1,000 which isn't too bad to go to India. I know it'll cost more there but it's not as expensive as going on vacation to Europe! I think it would be a great experience and he could travel with other coworkers and make a vacation out of it. I don't think there's a problem with him leaving me in August. It's not like it's the end of September.

Re: I want DH to go to India!

  • That would be an awesome experience, I think I would encourage my DH to go as well (and then be jealous that I wasn't going too!)

  • I would definitely encourage him to go!  The odds of you needing him two months before your due date are pretty slim.  Do you think he's using you as an excuse because he really doesn't want to go for some reason?

  • That would be in incredible experience!

Although, being honest, I might prefer to drop $1,000+ on a trip for both of us, something cool for the baby or after the baby comes, etc, but that's just me, and going to India is probably a once in a lifetime experience.

I agree with what Bev said.

  • That sounds like an awesome trip. Do you think he is giving those reasons because he doesn't want to go? My thing would be I would want to spend that money on a vacation for the family.
