what wedding stuff are you scrapbooking?

i have not made a scrapbook since i studied abroad 13 years ago, so i am a little out of practice. i bought a scrapbook that i confess i am not entirely sure how to fill. these are the things i was planning to put in it--help me think of what i am forgetting!

shower: menu, my place card, bridal shower bingo card, little puffy heart things my mom sprinkled on the tables, the ribbon she tied around the favors, and the invitation.

RD: invitation, menu

wedding: copies of the blessings our friends gave (which they wrote themselves and we hadn't seen before the wedding), the ribbon we used for the handfasting, our escort cards, our table "numbers", invitation, program, photosharing card, menu

should i put honeymoon stuff in there too? this doesn't sound like very much to me and i know some of you are scrapbookers. TIA!

Re: what wedding stuff are you scrapbooking?

  • I'm also going to attempt a scrapbook.  The one thing I want to add in that I don't see on your list are the RSVP cards, especially the ones with the cute notes.
  • I bought our scrapbook right after we got engaged, and am pondering how to go about it. I am not a serious scrapbooker or anything, but thought it would be nice as well. I planned on putting HM stuff in there as well. We saved our airline ticket stubs, and he daily newsletter & newlywed letter from the resort.

A few of the other things I have saved from the wedding: the napkins with our name/date on them, fake flowers from the tables

And I am sure I will think of more...

  • I almost forgot about the rsvp's, thanks for reminding me. We are still going through all the wedding stuff, ugh. And we don't even have all of it here.

  • Nothing. I hate scrapbooking. I'm going to get a little wood trunk or antique luggage and store everything in there- rsvps, the invite, my veil, copies of all of the paper crap we made, etc etc etc. Also a pomander and a few other DIY things that we didn't end up using. I totally forgot them in the mad dash to pack everything up for the venue :(

  • thanks chicks. yeah, i wasn't sure about the rsvps. i have heard of putting them all in a photo album so they slot in easily but most people didn't write notes so i wasn't sure i would want to save all the plain ones.

and hippie-- you reminded me of another thing i have no idea how to store-- my veil! it was a birdcage so small anyway, and i just stuffed it into the purse my mom made for me out of my grandma's wedding gown. and the fascinator is back in the box it came in with no place to store it either.

  • I think i need to make an album first of our engagment party back in april of 09 since i didnt have 1 picture printed lol

you could just say screw it and include it all in the same scrapbook...

  • I am a scrapbooker.  I hate scrapbooking "stuff".  IMO, it's all about the pictures.  I have found that when looking back at my books, and when others look, the pictures are the true focus.  The other things tend to be distracting.  It's also hard to get some things secured to the page (especially long term).  If you really want to include "stuff", I suggest creating a pocket on a page and storing related items.

    Excellent idea.

The only thing I want besides a trunk or chest is something to put the RSVP's in.  Like a photo holder, sort of like baseball card sheets.  Some of the RSVP's have notes on the back so I don't want to glue them on anything.

  • I'll probably only scrapbook some wedding photos. Things like RSVPs, a copy of our wedding program, and invitation are going to go in a little chest with all of my special cards.
