Well, noticed the air was running but not blowing cold air out, so when H came home he took a look at it. We thought it just needed free-on so we called the maintenance guy. Well, just our luck and it is broken beyond repair, they will be out to replace the whole thing tomorrow. In the meantime, H and I will sweat to death while we sleep.
Re: our ac is broken...ugh

advice: cold shower, fan on, sleep neekid.

sw- you've let it go a week and a half?!? You're crazy! LOL I definitely understand it all, since that's what my man does, but I'd never let it go that long! (And most people don't either) Most places charge a diagnostic fee, and they're a range, but don't go TOO cheap with it or you'll end up with a company who doesn't know what they're doing/cheats you. Go with a well-reputed company (not necessarily HUGE, but good recommendations!). Even ask on your local if you don't know of one! But get it done ASAP! Cuz sometimes it can be fixed right away, easy peezy, and sometimes they have to send out for parts, etc.
Missy - sometimes it's easy to diagnose it, and if it's a larger motor (there are generally 3 major motors in most units) it may not be worth it to fix the motor, as they can be really pricey. Or if there's a leak in the coil or somewhere tough like that. hahaha gas? I've never heard anyone refer to it as that!
Most A/C guys I know (and I know a lot!) are pretty particular about using the correct terminology! Good luck!!!
