If we wanted to build a deck...

who would we call? Actually, what we're picturing is converting our back porch/steps into a small deck. But I don't know where to start. Recommendations?

  • A builder? Is that what you're asking?

    I think so. Yes.

  • a builder or you could ask Home Depot or Lowes re: some of their contractors etc that they contract out work to, etc.

  • If you don't want to do it yourself, you'd have to find a contractor/builder or someone you know to do it.  If you want to do it yourself, I'd buy a book or do some research online, and check with the folks at Home Depot.

  • Home Depot and Lowes contract with local builders anyway, so you might save time, money and hassle finding a builder on your own. You'll need to get a building permit to do it legally, so you might want to get that paper work started.

Good to know... we are not DIYers, so we'll have somebody do it for sure. I suppose I can find info re: permits on the city's website?
