I am tired, didn't sleep well, our ac isn't working properly, woke up to it being 78 in the apt. Not a good start off. LOL
Re: Thursday Randoms
I'm also not feeling great. I woke up super dehydrated/headachey. I'm chugging water like it's my job and I'm hoping that does the trick.
We won our softball game last night - bringing our record to 2-5 I believe. Go team Beers. :-)
Last night was the first night I wasn't terribly uncomfortable! It was nice.
I am happy that it is raining. My lawn is very thirsty!
Ditto! Even with regular hose watering, our lawn has gotten a bit crispy because it's been so hot with no rain.
Agreed. We didn't water our lawn all last year and have yet to this year. Still green and growing strong!
I keep the AC set at 80.
I'm a cheap a$$ and don't want to pay to cool it anymore.
lame confession -- sometimes on the weekend, if im the only one home, i turn off the ac, and go to work, just so i don't have to pay to cool my house. It helps me build my OT hours as well.
I don't have a lawn. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have one, but then I think about mowing, and i'm kind of glad I don't have one.
A family member of Nick's had a baby girl a few days ago. They named her Kameron. We had that on our non-existant baby name list, but with a C. I'm not personally a fan of that name with a K. I actually cringed when Nick told me they spelled it with a K.
Mowing isn't so bad - we have a riding mower and it takes about an hour to mow everything. Usually while sipping a beer.
I"ve actually never mowed a lawn in my life. I was too young to mow lawns before we moved to AZ/NV.
At my grandma's house, that was always a 'boys' job.
I cringe a little too when I see K's where C's normally occur and Y's where I's normally occur. I think it might be that I'm generally a careful speller and like things the way I'm used to seeing them.
And part of me pictures the rational in a Valley Girl voice saying "OMG, I love the name Cameron, but, like, wouldn't it be way cuter with a K? The letter K is super cute but C is so yuck-o."
To each their own though. :-)
I'm glad I'm not the only one. They have a little boy too and his name also starts with a K where it's could be argued that it should start with a C. They're going to be those parents
You're totally right though, to each their own.
Good morning.
I spied this jacket on sale at modcloth.com yesterday. I thought about buying it, but decided to think about it. I have since decided that I really like it, so I just went to buy it. And now they don't have it in my size.
THAT.SUCKS. I hate when that happens.
I know I've said this before, but I kind of hate having a yard. We have a fairly large yard and I hate how much time and money it requires to keep in looking decent. And we never, ever actually use the yard for anything except pouring time and money into it.
Sometimes I would really like a condo.
I'm ridiculously pissed/bummed about it. I really liked it and it was an amazing price. But, it's just a coat, right? Life will go on.
I'd be bummed too. :-( Hopefully you'll find something even cuter and cheaper.
We're having another couple over for dinner tomorrow night. We're going to grill chicken burgers and I'm going to make this couscous salad.
I think I need to add one more side dish, but I'm stumped. Any suggestions? No corn on the cob. Maybe potatoes of some sort?
You could try some oven fries or sweet potato fries.
Maybe veggie kabobs? Simple - just skewer whatever veggies you like (any color pepper, onion, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes).
Or brush some yellow squash, zuchini or asparagus with some olive oil and S&P and grill up.
omfg yum. My sister brings these anytime we get together to grill. She marinates them in some sort of dressing and then we grill them up and they are the best. I eat like 4 skewers of them everytime. Ha.
Honestly, I don't understand my electric bill. I turn it up to 95 when i'm gone. I keep it at 83 w/fans during the day, and 78-80 at night. The previous owners pumped extra insulation in the walls. My bill is still over $300 in the summer.
I"m lazy and use italian dressing.
Also, when I do the summersquash like Juli mentioned. I put some of the juice from the jar of minced garlic with the olive oil before I brush the olive oil on. It makes it taste more yummy.
