Bikini Hair Removal sans Waxing...

I need bikini hair removal options besides waxing and shaving. I tend to get pimples in that area (gross) from shaving, and friction/warm weather... and waxing is toooo painful and expensive! Has anyone tried Veet?

Re: Bikini Hair Removal sans Waxing...

  • Have you already tried waxing, or are you just assuming?  I have heard that sugaring is less painful than waxing.   Have you tried that?
  • I started using Nair  (sp?) because I get irritation.  It is not painful at all but just like shaving, it comes back within a couple of days.  The good thing about waxing is that it stays gone for a couple of weeks.
  • I used to have the same problem and waxing solved it. It's not that painful, and it lasts long, so you only have to do it every other month. To me, it's totally worth it. I wax with honey, pure honey. Ask your person to do small parts at a time and you will be fine.

  • Save up for laser hair removal.  You'll have to do it once a season, which is worth trading off for some pain and expense.

  • I use a wonderful product that completely prevents me from razor burn and bumps.  I have extremely sensitive skin.

It's called "Coochy" shave cream.  You can purchase it from any Slumber Parties Distributor.  I happen to be one - so if you are interested, let me know and I can get you a bottle of it.  It works great!

  • I used Veet on my legs once and I thought it was going to burn my skin off.  I don't think you're supposed to use it near the bikini area.  Waxing really doesn't hurt that bad.  I really prefer the hot wax to the cold - the first time I got it done the waxer used hot wax for 90% of the hair but she had to switch to the cold stuff for the stubborn areas.  It hurt so much more

  • Health and Beauty would be a better place to post this, considering it is not related to sex and/or romance.
  • I have the sensitive skin issue too. The key to waxing is to be well trimmed when you go. If you are full grown, it will be very painful! And if the hair is to short, your waxer will have to make multiple passes to get it all, which will cause more irritation. I have found that shaving works best for me when I use my "little secret." A friend told me that I needed to exfoliate after I shave. I use a pumice stone and VERY lightly exfoliate the area. Works like a charm! Also a little baby powder helps absord any excess moisture in between the legs.

  • I'm a recent fan of waxing and have convinced DH that even if we're broke, its worth the investment! That said, I also have the "coochy" product mentioned (however i got mine through Pure Romance).  Its great! I use it for underarms and have even convince DH to use it on his face rather than just soap and water.  He's in the MC and has to shave everyday, so its been great for his skin. He can go a day and a half now without shaving! lol.  I havent tried it for the bikini area because I've heard after you shave waxing goes back to be as horrible as the first time (it really does get better! I swear!) but if its anything like the other uses, I highly recommend it!
  • I love Coochy. I use it on my bikini area and I don't get any sort of razor bumps. You should be able to find it at any reputable adult novelty store (Adam and Eve, Priscilla McCall's, etc).
