i know it is hot but come on people!!!

i saw a lady at target with her newborn, the baby was wearing only a diaper, okay, i know it is stinkin' hot, but stores are cold with a/c, it kind of irked me that she had a newborn in a store with nothing on but a diaper, i wanted to toss her a onesie and a blanket for the poor kid

then again maybe i am overreacting here, but i wouldn't have taken D out as a newborn with just a diaper, no matter how hot it was outside and even if i didn't have a/c in my car or our house, stores are cold, she could have at least thrown a blanket on top of him in the store

  • I don't take my kid out to stores in just a diaper, it's trashy.
  • was it at least a Huggies denim diaper??  Big Smile
  • R lived in a onesie his first summer - he was born in July.

Our first trip out, we got stuck in walmart during a DOWNPOUR and could not leave until the rain let up.  We accidentally left his blanket in the car and ended up having to buy one because it was cold in there.

    People are crazy

  • I hate seeing kids in just a diaper. I will Natalie run around in a diaper at home but she is always in clothes when we go out.

Newborn skin is just too sensitive. I'd be worried about the sun on the skin.

  • Some people are just like that, unfortunately. You're 100% right about it being too chilly in a store for just a diaper - no matter how hot it is outside. I don't have air in my car but my kids are always dressed when we go out.
  • I see this all.the.time and sometimes it's NOT warm enough outside. Note to parents: If you are wearing jeans and a hoodie, your baby needs more clothing than a daiper or a diaper and tshirt.

  • Um, ew.  The only time I ever let either of my kids hang out in just a diaper is up at the lake when it's hot and sunny.....when we are there we don't turn the a/c on very often b/c everyone's always outside and we leave the doors open so the dogs can go in and out for water, shade, etc.  Last weekend we went up and it was in the 90's so PJ was in his diaper while the rest of us were in swimsuits.

But out in public, it just seems gross,,,,that would be like an adult going to the store in nothing but a bathing suit or panties and bra,

Sadly I see this all too often too. There is usually some kind of swimsuit "cover up" but people don't seem to realize that if there are holes the size of quarters in your cover up... it's NOT covering anything up.
