Laura - re: baptistm gift
How old is the person being baptized? Boy or girl?
Re: Laura - re: baptistm gift
If it's a Christian baptism, perhaps a children's Bible, with his name engraved? I've also seen some stuffed animals (bunnies) in a "kneeling" position, and when you squeeze their belly, they say a prayer.
You could probably go into a Christian bookstore or something and find lots of things.
And for what it's worth, it may be ok for you not to give a gift at all, depending on your relationship with the parents. Perhaps your presence at the baptism would be enough?
I missed the original thread for this, but if it's a Catholic Baptism (I'm guessing it is since it's a baby) then I love to give a baby St. Christopher's medal. He was/is the patron Saint of travelers and is known as the 'Christ-Bearer' for carrying the infant Jesus across a river. His medal's usually show him carrying the baby Jesus and say "Saint Christopher Protect Us"
I also like to give tiny baby cross necklaces or Angel statues to put in their room, like a Guardian Angel.
