Ok, so all the posts about drinking got me thinking (I'm a poet and didn't know it!!)... haha....
What's your favorite drink??? Also, do you have a recipe?
I'm slightly partial to Pom Martinis, but I've been browsing the drink recipes on the nest and this Flirtini looks pretty awesome:
Ingredients:
1 ounce (30 ml) vodka
0.35 ounce (10 ml) apricot liqueur
0.35 ounce (10 ml) cranberry juice
0.35 ounce (10 ml) pineapple juice
Ice cubes
Champagne
1 strawberry, for garnish
Directions:
Place the vodka, apricot liqueur, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and ice cubes in a shaker and shake well. Strain the cocktail into a martini glass and top off with champagne. Garnish with the strawberry.
Re: May 2010 - Semi-Alcoholics
I'm a dark rum and coke girl. I like Gosling's Black Seal Rum, real coke (not diet coke), and a slice of lime. That is my drink.
However, I enjoy anything pink, frothy, frozen, with whipped cream, with tequila, with citric juices, and anything complicated. In short, I like alcoholic beverages.
I pretty much drink Coors Light, occasionally Miller Lite, and, when I'm feeling especially adventurous, I'll drink Yeungling Light if I can find it.
Other than that, I like to mix mango Malibu with Sprite (diet or regular).
I have also discovered mojitos this summer.
I was a big fan of shots in my drinking days. I was a whiskey girl, but I also liked to do Duck Farts (much better than they sound). It's a layered shot. You fill the glass about 1/2 to 2/3 with Crown Royal, put some Bailey's on top of that, and put a splash of Kahlua on top. I worked at a Boy Scout camp for three summers, and that's what the staff guys always drank when we went out.
I like my girly drinks. Agua de Valencia is near the top of the list. Yummy and potent haha! I don't have the recipe right now (everything's packed to move). But it's basically champagne, orange juice, vodka, and sugar.

Old school daquiris:
Equal parts fresh-squeezed lime juice & simple syrup, and some good, dark rum. We're partial to Mount Gay and Cruzan rums
Oh soooo many. I'm a big vodka drinker...
vodka cranberry (yum) sometimes with a splash of pineapple juice
However... Bombay Sapphire (Gin) and tonic used to be my go to and I still drink it from time to time. I also will drink rum and coke every now and then... dark delicious spiced rum (Sailor Jerry or Captain Morgan)
And for you Southern girls... Has anyone tried Firefly Sweet Tea Flavored Vodka?? It's AWESOME with lemonade!
As far as shots go... CHOCOLATE CAKE!
1oz Frangelico (Hazelnut Liqueur)
1/2oz Vodka (Vanilla Vodka is even better...)
Lemon Wedge - dipped into granulated sugar
Suck the lemon wedge and with the juice still in your mouth take the shot.
It SO tastes like chocolate cake and there's nothing chocolate in it!
Sprite and Captain Morgan or Long Island Iced Tea.. we always have a pitcher of it in the refrigerator.
Equal parts of: (I usually do 1 cup each)
Gin
Vodka
Light Rum
Triple Sec
Sour Mix
and Half the amount (half a cup)
Tequila
I always buy the well liquor and then mix it either with Coke or Diet Coke!
I'm a Captain Morgan rum and coke kinda girl. And I do like my twisted teas (as you can see in my picture below) those are my idea of a beer, since i dont like real beer.
I can do a cosmopolitan, i make really good ones, but i have to be in the mood to drink them.
Holla! Finally another girl who likes a rum and coke! My FIL is a huge rum and coke drinker, and the first time I met the in-laws he asked me if he could make me a drink - when I told him I'd like a R&C he turned to HH and said "She's a keeper". We get smashed together every time we see each other.
LOL love i t! yea alot of ladies look at me strange when i say captain and coke. i'm not a girly drinker really, i like Long Island Ice Teas too!!!
And yes on the holidays I will enjoy alittle scotch with my dad! He thinks its fantastic and my mom is apalled, LOL
Instead of sour mix use a Lemonade (my favorite is Simply Lemonade) and it is soooo much better! This has caused me to be addicted to long islands, which is so horrible.
