Do you speak another language?
I often find myself wishing that I had kept up my Spanish classes when I got to college (since I took 4 years in high school, I tested out of my foreign language core requirement, so I didn't take any). I just had a student submit an assignment that was partially in Spanish (which wasn't a problem for this particular assignmnt), and I started reading it out loud because I like the sound of the Spanish and I was trying to translate it.
Do you speak anything other than English? How well do you speak it?
(Side note: I did also teach myself some Italian a few years ago, but I've lost most of it now because I haven't used it.)

Re: Do you speak another language?
I have also 'lost' most of my spanish, sad since it waI definitely would like to pick it back up. I did OK in Spain last year, but had a traveler's dictionary with me to assist.
I've also started to try to teach myself French (not easy)
I used to be able to speak spanish. I took Spanish all through HS, and took one year intensive Spanish in college (it was every day, for one full year- instead of taking it spread out in two years worth). I traveled to Spain and did fine, but the people there are super nice and helpful anyway.
Now, I can barely speak spanish anymore
I just didnt keep up with it.
I only speak spanish now, but I don't speak it as much as I use to so I am forgetting alot of it.I also spoke French, Italian and Germany and a little arabic. My father spoke 5 languages and wanted us to learn multiple languages when we were little.
took 3 years of German in HS and got the opportunity to go to Germany for 3 weeks in HS.
then took a year of Spanish in college and studied abroad for 5 weeks to take care of 2nd year Spanish - while there i could understand a heck of a lot more than I could speak. Really never picked up on Spanish because every time i heard a foreign language, I thought to answer it in German, hah!
I have retained a bit of German - though I would love for us to get stationed in Germany where I could practice it more!!
