***SIREN SONG***

Hi!  I just read your poll response about your hubby embellishing things.  That is so funny because my neighbor does the same exact thing.  The other neighbor clued me in on this and I started paying attention one day.  She totally takes other people's stories and makes them her own.  Its bizarre.  But even better that I now see she isn't alone.

Have you asked your hubby about this?  Like why he does this?  We have been trying to figure out a "tactful" way of letting our neighbor know of this.  My theory has been to just let it go.  One of those, "pick your battles" situations.  But with you, its a totally different situation!

Thanks for sharing with us!!   These polls are so fun to learn about other things with our husbands, friends, and families.

Re: ***SIREN SONG***

  • It IS bizarre, isn't it! I have pointed it out to him once or twice and he got a little embarrassed about it, I think.

It is really as if he has a memory of the story but his mind plants himself at the centre of it, as if it happened to him...so that's how he remembers it lol. I have tried to figure it out and that's the best I can come up with, I actually think he doesn't do it on purpose.

    Strange huh?

Also, he'll be on the phone and sometimes he'll say something like "Maya's just run out of the room..." if his parents are on the phone, when she's sitting on the couch watching cartoons. Like, I have NO idea why he's told them something like that but it's kinda a distracted verbal filler or something lol.

My husband can be weird sometimes lol.

Glad to see he's not the only one too. It'd be amusing counting how many stories your neighbour adopts as her own lol.

  • Well we've already started counting.  Well I should say, my friend has.  She is so annoyed with it because the stories are copied, are hers.  So it bothers her immensely.  But I just think its funny and peculiar.  Something that boggles my mind and makes MH and I laugh about after when we're alone.  :)  That's ok, I probably do things too that people laugh about.

I will keep you updated if something happens again soon.  This will be fun!
