WHY am I looking at houses!?!?
G and I just bought our "starter home" a little over a year and a half ago. It is a small three bedroom ranch (only about 960 square feet.) It is small but plenty for just the two of us but needed A LOT of updating.
Ideally, I will start working this fall and in about 3-4 more years we can start searching for our "forever" home. I want something big enough to host all family gatherings (we have huge families and I love to entertain!) and something we won't outgrow.
I love old houses that are nicely kept up and can be made beautiful. This one in particular...but I REALLY need to stop looking.
Re: WHY am I looking at houses!?!?
I am clearly living in the wrong state if that is what 125,000 will get me. The average home value in our city is 293,000.
It's a really cute house though!

That's what I was thinking! That house would be upwards of 300,000 here!
I was thinking the exact same thing! We just bought our starter home for 300,000! I would die and go to heaven if I could purchase a home as cute as that for that price!
You can hardly get a trailer here for that much.
That house is adorable, Courtney, and you should totally look into it more.
We've had a pipe dream of moving to Boise sometime in the future (we would have to wait for at least 3 or 4 years) and I caught myself looking online at houses too. It's a dangerous habit

Looking is always ok - it's good to have a good idea of how much things cost so that you can prepare financially :-).
Nothing wrong with looking. We bought our forever house last August and I still look at house! I'm actually obsessed anytime a house comes on the market in our subdivision I'm all over it.
As for the price, Ohio definately has good prices! I watch house hunters on TLC and can't believe how much small/gross houses are in other cities.
My thoughts exactly!!! Baltimore is ridiculously expensive! We bought a tiny 2 bedrooms condo for twice that price
I knew that I should not have opened this post.

I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.
