DH appreciation post!

I haven't had a first day of my period this bad since I was in high school-- terrible cramps, headache, backache, nausea, and my boobs hurt so bad I can't even get them in a bra!!

So while I've been in bed all morning, DH ran out and bought me midol and a  heating pad! He's been sitting in bed with me rubbing my head, and now he's in the office designing and ordering our thank you cards!

The only way he could be a better husband today is if he could figure out a way to actually have my period for me : )

Which would be awesome.

Alright, you guys next!

Re: DH appreciation post!

  • That's so sweet.

HH was like that when I got sent home from work because my fever was over 103. He came home from work early and pampered me.

  • he worked 50 hours of over time to help me save money for things we'll need for our new house <3
  • nearly every night he will bring me a glass of water to bed bc I don't want to get up.

  • I could list thousands - I'm a really lucky girl :)  But I'll choose one:

When HH and I went on our first trip together, we did an impromptu visit to Europe.  We had only been dating for about a month and a half, and were only "officially" boyfriend and girlfriend for 8 days.  We were in Germany when I started feeling sick - I had an enormous fever, and I'd be freezing cold, then boiling hot, back and forth all night.  I had no appetite whatsoever, and I kept throwing up.  I was MISERABLE.  We were staying at the home of a friend of mine, and she lived on the outskirts of this really tiny town.  She was away for the night, so we had no access to a car, and there were no busses or anything.  At about 1:30am I woke up and suddenly I was STARVING.  HH got up, walked into the town, bought me fried chicken and french fries ("chicken and chips") and took a taxi back to where we were staying so that I could eat.  That chicken and chips made me feel SO much better, and tided me over until the morning until I could get to a pharmacy.  (I had strep throat - luckily my friend that we were staying with just happened to be a pharmacist, so she could get me the medication I needed for free, and on a Sunday to boot!)

Now whenever I'm not feeling well, he'll ask me if he needs to get me "chicken and chips" which is our code for any kind of meds that I might be needing ;)

  • DH just hung up our curtain rod & curtains in the dining room, then assembled our new stools, then assembled a bookshelf, then helped me break down TONS of boxes to put in our new recycling bin.  :)

  • I had a freakout at 4:30 in the morning last night (this morning?) in regards to something that happened earlier this week that had brought back some very vivid memories of a very bad time. I was sobbing in bed and he was very, very patient and sweet, even though I was being irrational and he hadn't slept a wink yet that night.
  • the Japanese actually did invent some contraption to make men experience a period lol. Thos Japanese people invent some crazy sh!t!

  • On the way back from a month-long trip to Mexico (before we were married), I got very sick in the Memphis airport. Unfortunately our flight was delayed about 5 hours. DH wandered around the airport to find me some soup and crackers at 11pm, which helped, but I appreciated most that he still loved me after I threw up on the plane! He practically carried me off the plane and back to our car in Grand Rapids. I was sick for a week when we got back.  Ewwww. I hate being sick.
  • My sister & BIL were coming to visit this weekend.  HH is a full-time student taking two classes this summer and I was working all day at my regular job (Mon-Wed) and then spending 13 hours each day on the golf course working on Thursday and Friday. HH cleaned the house, top to bottom.  He even took down the curtains and washed them! And after mowing the yard, he trimmed all the bushes and pulled all the weeds.  It looks amazing!  And my sister called at 6 am Sat morning to cancel.  We were so bummed he didn't get to show off his great house husbandry work!
  • Adam usually does sweet stuff for me that most other people wouldn't think is a big deal, but it's sweet to me!

This morning:  I get up and get ready for work, grab my purse and my keys and open the front door and it's pouring down rain.  I can't find my umbrella.  Adam runs all the way out to my car and gets soaking wet just to get my umbrella out of the car so I didn't have to get wet!

  • Also:  If I set something down in the house in an odd place and Adam thinks I won't remember where I put it, he'll move it to an obvious spot... like this morning, I open the shower curtain and my sunglasses are hanging on the shower caddy.... even though it was pouring down rain and I wouldn't need them, he knows that I hate going anywhere without my sunglasses.

  • Ok, I think we all have some amazing husbands here ladies!!  And it's totally the little things that they do that are the sweetest and most romantic things that make us love them so much.  HH has done the whole sweeping romance of lighting the whole house full of candles, and flowers, and that kind of thing, but it's when he makes a special trip to the convenience store to buy the oatmeal that I like when I realize that I forgot to buy any and the grocery store is already closed, or when he goes to church with me every single weekend without ever once complaining, even though he is not religious...it is those little things that make me fall in love with him again every day.

  • DH does alot of nice things for me and dotes on me constantly, but one thing that I think is so nice is that he doesn't complain about me to his friends.  I know they do (sometimes in front of me)...age, weight, etc.  but he never does and he says its because he prefers to be positive.  I think that's great.
  • HH sent me a text this morning telling me how much he loved me, he didn't know what he'd do without me, and that he'll be thinking about me all day while he's at work =]. I love that man!

  • Also yesterday we went fishing and HH put the worm on my hook for me (I like to fish but always refuse to put the worm on the hook) and fixed my reel when it started messing up. I felt bad because he had to stop fishing to fix my pole but he didn't care to.

THIS!!!  Adam does that for me, too, because I can't stand having to impale the worm on the hook.... and then he has to take the fish off for me too and throw it back in because I don't like to touch them.  He also has to throw his OWN fish back even though he really wants to keep them and cook them because I feel bad for the fish.

This made me laugh out loud.  I have gone fishing three times in my life, I have caught a fish every time, and every time I have cried.  Now no one will take me fishing anymore.

  • See, I love to go fishing, but I always feel so bad about it.  Adam asked me one time when I got really upset about it "why do you get so upset?  You're SUPPOSED to eat them... you don't get upset when you see people order fish at a restaurant??"  I told him "how would you feel if you just sat down at the dinner table and I come bring you a plate of food and as soon as you put the first bite in your mouth, I yank a metal hook through your face??"  He laughed at me.

I don't have a problem with taking the fish off the hook, and I'll even pick up a worm but I refuse to stick a hook through him lol

  • HH takes the kids out to his mom's house every once in a while and keeps them there overnight so I can have some alone time.  It's soooo nice.  So relaxing.  And I know they're having a great time because she's got 6 acres, a trampoline, and HH's quad is out there.  He's great with them, and I don't worry about them when he's got them anymore.  At first I did, but now this parenting thing is old hat to him. Pretty impressive for a guy who doesn't have any of his own bio kids.
