There Went the Car

Hubby got in a wreck this morning.  He's okay -- which is the important thing.  The car's probably totalled.  Not the way I envisioned spending my Saturday, nor am I looking forward to him getting a new car when we were in the process of looking for one for me.  I sound really selfish right now -- I'm just venting.

He's got a bruise from the seatbelt he was thankfully wearing.  He had a tire blow out, lost control of the car, and hit a concrete bench out front of a bank.  The car's undrivable.  If he hadn't been wearing his seatbelt, I can't imagine what would have happened.

I'm still trying to process it all.  I had to call the insurance claim in for him and he's resting with the help of a pain pill.  We're holed up at his parents' house for the day, so MIL can help take care of him since she has a medical background.  I just can't believe this happened.

Re: There Went the Car

  • Oh my goodness, I'm sorry! I'm glad your H is ok, that's the important thing! It just sucks about the car though, but these things happen for a reason. I hope everything works out for you both and I hope your H feels better soon!
  • Yikes!  Sorry this happened, and thankful YH is doing well.  I'd be thinking the same thing about the car situation as what you mentioned.  It may seem selfish, but it's our nature to think about the plans we had that may no longer be reality.  Keep us posted!

  • Aw hun I'm sorry this happened but glad your hubby is OK! The same thing happened to my parents when my dad's car was totaled. Just know it will all work out and it's perfectly normal to feel a little selfish about plans you had.
  • Ahhh, that sucks. Glad he is okay though. Sending good thoughts your way!
  • I'm glad to hear that he is okay and hopefully everyone will realize that it was indeed from the blown our tire!

Was his car completely paid off?  If so, hopefully you could use some of the money from the insurance company and used that to get him a new to you car to avoid two car payments.  GL!

  • Bummer, glad he is okay! Keep us updated on the car!
