Warrior Prince & Princess with a Purpose

my friend just said on fb that she dropped her son off here.

i am sure they are just regular church daycamps (although baptist which i admit i judge for their judginess) but the names are horrifying. it makes me think of that god warrior chick on wife swap.

Re: Warrior Prince & Princess with a Purpose

  • Granted I haven't been to church in a few months, but isn't being a warrior antithetical to Christ's teaching?
  • My former boss called himself a Warrior For The Lord, so there's some sort of school of thought floating around out there-kinda like the Salvation Army, maybe?

I'm not on board with the whole princess thing. Let's teach our girls to be entitled, spoiled and expect prince charming? Maybe Princess Jesus Camp is different, though.

  • I was going to give them credit for treating the boys and the girls equally, but then I saw that the two titles are separate.  Girls can't be warriors, y'all.

  • Girls learn manners and boys learn chivalry!  How quaint.

  • i hate that the purpose implies that females are inferior in some way
  • Yikes.

Our church's bible camp has a rainforest theme this year. I'm liking that a bit better. I don't exactly like the "warrior for god" concept.

  • i don't like the warrior concept because it implied fighting against others who have different beliefs, like those wbc people
