Grocery Lists and Dinner ideas!

YAY! I remembered to post this again! What's everyone cooking this week?

Last week I tried a new great  recipe... it's Julia Child's Supremes de Volaille aux Champignons (Chicken breasts with mushrooms and cream)... and yes, I cooked this right after I watched Julie and Julia haha Anyway, totally google it because it was fabulous!

This week.... I'm kind of clueless. I really want to make grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches haha That's all I got. Help me out!

Re: Grocery Lists and Dinner ideas!

  • Well, since HH isn't here this week, I do not plan on doing much cooking.  I am making that yummy chicken pesto again tonight, just because we have tons of chicken breasts in the freezer, so it meant I didn't have to go to the grocery store.  But I will probably be making lots of Kraft Dinner and frozen pizza meals this week :)  I really only cook when he's here to enjoy it, because I am just as happy eating toast and coffee for every meal.

Tonight we are having turkey burgers, salad and corn on the cob, the rest of the week is a blur!

I'd like to make baked salmon with roasted root veggies and sweet potato frieds one night, and possibly vegetarian lasanga, garlic bread, and spinach salad.

Baked salmon is one of my MOST favourite meals!!

  • My most favorite thing to make/eat for us is the taco ring!! Easiest meal ever.

You need a pound of ground beef, a package of taco seasoning, 1.5 cups of shredded cheese, a tablespoon of water, and 2 packages of crescent rolls.

Mix the meat (uncooked), water, taco seasoning, and cheese. Unroll the crescent rolls and arrange the triangles in a circle on a baking sheet/stone with the wide ends overlapping in the center and points toward the outside. Then make little meatballs and place them on the widest end of the dough and bring the points over to tuck underneath. Basically you're wrapping up the meat. Bake at 375 for 25 min. Garnish with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, sour cream, more cheese, guac....or your fav taco toppings!

The leaner your meat, the less grease will be in your taco ring. I don't brown the meat first and it works just fine, some people do. ENJOY!

  • Pasta Primavera here!

HH cooks so I am going to try my best here. He roasts the veggies (pepper, zuchini, squash, and onions.) Then just mixes it with the pasta and pasta sauce.

That's our dinner for tonight and tomorrow. After that who knows what we will be eating since we will be on our honeymoon!

  • Some of those recipies sound great!  I haven't even thought about my menu or going shopping since I've been at work all weekend.  I'll probably have to go shopping tomorrow.

  • I love this thread!  It is making me feel like I should maybe cook something for myself even though HH isn't here...

I did end up making that chicken pesto thing for dinner, with rice tonight (eating it now).  I decided that to go with the green pesto thing, I would make some sour apple martinis.  It is really really hot here, so I made them frozen in the blender, so they're not a true martini, but they're friggin hella delicious!!

  • one night I am doing homeade tacos which are not healthy in anyway. They are deep-fried tacos and have no healthy aspect to them other than the tomatos, & cheese. But I have been craving them so i am having them!

tilapia lightly breaded then baked with a lemon bleur blanc sauce mixed veggies & rice.

ummm thats all I know for sure!!! Probibly frozen pizza one night to make it easy on me & pasta one night

  • Ok I got tonight's menu figured out.

    Chicken & Dumplings

    Baked Mac N Cheese

    Corn

    Mashed Potatos

The rest of the week will be leftovers and whatever else I can come up with lol
