Teachers: summer reading question
My boss's daughter is supposed to be in honors english next year for the first time. Over the summer they are to read 2 books, post comments on the class blog and write a paper. Daughter never picked up assignment paper, so boss picked it up from the school this morning. The deadline for the assignments for the first book was July 8.
So since she missed the date, should boss call the school and find out if daughter still qualifies for the class? These assignments are required for the class, and I don't know how strict the teacher is w/deadlines for the tasks. What should they do?
Re: Teachers: summer reading question
Teacher hat pulled on.......
Since she forgot to get the assignment sheet to begin with I would wonder if she could handle a honor's class. It doesn't matter if this is her first class or not, when you have a honor's student, I would expect more out of them, including remembering to get the assignment, much less waiting until halfway through July. Secondly, no, mom should not call. The daughter should. Her grade, her responsibility.
