Re: BUDDHA

  • Thanks! Monty won't go near him if I'm not there, but he always wants to be all up in our business if we're playing with the baby. He's all "Moooom...remember when you used to only love meeeeeeeee". I think I overdid it on trying to make him associate the baby with good times. Now, he thinks the baby equals instant Monty petting time.

  • That picture is extremely adorable!  My daughter is allergic to our dog.  It sucks!

  • Oh no, Miller.  Are her allergies severe?  What can you do for that?  Is she on allergy medicine?

That was my biggest fear. I would not know what to do.

Better than Monty making a snack out of Ethan though, right?  They are adorable together! :-)

Yes, she will break out in hives if the dog licks her and she is always blotchy and itchy and uncomfortable.  We thought we could control things by keeping the dog away from the baby, but it is impossible.  We are sending the dog off for a few days to see if Katelyn gets any better.  If there is a drastic improvement, then we will probably get rid of the dog.  It makes me so sick to my stomach to think about it.

ETA: We give her Children's Zyrtec 2x a day.  It isn't really for kids under the age of 4, so I hate giving it to her.  It helps with the itching, but her skin is a disaster.  I feel horrible for her.

  • That is so sad, Miller.  Obviously, there's no choice in the matter if you find that she's significantly better when the dog isn't present, but that would tear me up too.  Do you have family members or friends who would be able to take the dog?

That's so sad. I always sad that a severe allergy was the only thing that would make me give Monty away. It would break my heart, but in the end you have to take care of your kid.

Do you have any family that can take her?

  • Aw Miller, that's awful. I'm sorry.

  • Unfortunately, no family that can take her.  We haven't seriously pursued this yet because we are both still in denial that it will probably happen.  Here is a picture from this past weekend of Katelyn.  Poor baby.  Her face is so red.

  • Awww, poor Katelyn. :(   Allergies suck, but allergies to family pets have to be the worst thing ever.

  • I told Mike about your dog last night. If we could handle three dogs, we would take her. He said you should make your sister take her.

HA!  I was just on the phone with her and she was screaming at one of hers.  I don't think they can handle three!

  • What kind of dog is it?  I work with plenty of rescues and I'm really close to KY.
