It is POURING here! I haven't seen a rain storm like this in a while. Fingers crossed the power goes out and I can go home!
Two souls but a single thought; Two hearts that beat as one

Re: Holy Cow
haha...
What's crappy is that when they have a mandatory closing of the military post here due to weather (since I'm a contractor and not an actual government employee), whenever they force people to go home, I have to take vacation hours for it... when they MAKE me go home. It sucks.
One time we had a terrible thunder storm right as school was starting and the power went out. The power was out for about 4 HOURS in the morning-- we had to send kids to the bathroom using flashlights!
My district refused to end school early and then sent a letter home to parents downplaying how long the power was out for. Sometimes I really hate my administration...
not to mention the time they kept my kiddos out in the rain during a fire drill for 40 minutes and wouldn't let them wait in the administration building (which is right across the street!) until the alarm stopped... I was on my honeymoon during this little incident, or else I would have flipped out!
I would cry. It's been getting up in the 90s lately and it's been unbearable with the humidity. Right now it's 77 degrees outside because of all the rain. I can't imagine 115.
So jealous you are getting storms!! It's been cloudy and crazy humid all day, but NO RAIN!! There was a huge line of rain and storms yesterday in western NC, but by the time it made it to central NC, it fizzled out!! Grr!! I just want a couple days of rain.
Pam, I can't imagine living in Las Vegas. Is the heat dry heat? I could deal with that as long as it wasn't 115 degrees with 85% humidity. I'd melt. Or sweat to death.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
This makes me laugh. Work doesn't NOT get cancelled where I live due to icy roads. If that were the case, people wouldn't work from November through April.
Yeah, but you have to remember, this is Alabama... people freak out at the slightest HINT of snow... don't even bother trying to go to the grocery store because people panic and think that they HAVE to stock up on milk and bread because they think they're going to get snowed in with only an inch of snow on the ground!!! An inch of snow is practically a blizzard here!! When I was in high school, they used to cancel school a day in advance if they THOUGHT it was going to snow the next day. Yeah, and don't bother trying to drive anywhere if there's snow on the ground unless you want some A-hole to crash into you. People CANNOT drive in the snow in the South. Or in the rain.... or anytime at all for that matter!!! haha
I think you're probably the first person who has ever said that... EVER!!! haha
You're right. I take it back.
We drove through Alabama on our way to Destin, FL for our honeymoon. I thought it was very pretty, and very hot! And no offense stu, but we stopped at a gas station to get some candy bars and the lady asked us if we needed a sack to put them in. lol we got back in the car and HH goes "did she just ask if we needed a sack?" Up here we call them bags. I was cracking up. I'm a huge hillbilly though and I've lived up a creek all my life. We "creekers" have an accent all our own LOL.
It is normally a dry heat our humidity is normally at like 2% and that is about it. When you are used to that the 15% to 20% humidity that we have right now is horrible. The wind is supposed to push out the humidity between today and tomorrow so it will be back to what we are used to. I complain and really I am in an office where HH is in a ups truck without a/c. It sucks for him!
We took I-59 from Chattanooga and then hit I-65 to Pensicola. We went a different way coming home though. We followed Tom Tom and he took us through the backwoods lol
I didn't think it was that unusual to call them "sacks," but you know what they say about PA-- it's Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in the middle! I'm from the Alabama part.
