As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

wow, wish i was still a student (sort of - ha)
not sure if anyone here is still a student, seems we are all working at this point...

Bummer! I wish they had this when MH or I were still a student! I still have my .edu e-mail addy too, but it would be wrong to use it for this...
I've been thinking about going back for my PhD though...I guess this would be an added incentive if they still have it by then

well apparently it comes with 4 "family" invites that you can share...it's only supposed to be a 30-day membership for your friends/familly but someone posted that their membership has an expiration date of 1 yr from now....so, they may cancel it in 1 month or they may just let it go one year. either way, even a month would be nice
if you know of any real students you could tell them about it and then ask for an invite 
i still have an .edu address too - it's my alumni address (doesn't contain the suffix alumni.edu though, their systems bounces that one back). but, the terms say that if they ask for proof that you're a student and you don't have it, they have the right to back charge you for all the shipping you didn't pay!
don't think i want to chance that!
