Pet insurance?
Does anyone have pet insurance? Any pros/cons?
Our puppy is just now 11 weeks old and we've had to go into the emergency clinic twice (we have spent about $500 there), plus to our normal vet four times. I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to get insurance for her first year or two.
I love her to death, but she's a pricey pup!

We have it on 1 of the dogs, however I'm not overly satisfied with it, and am going to look into switching whenever i can find time to look into it. We have VPI.. don't bother with it. I've heard really good things about Pets Best.

We have Pet Plan insurance for our dog. I did extensive research and ultimately decided on Pet Plan because they reimburse you for the amount of your vet bill minus your co-insurance, whatever that amount is. Many other companies use usual and customary rates (or whatever it is they call it) to reimburse you.
However, they do not cover routine vet visits. They believe that that is something you can budget for (which is true) and insurance is for the unexpected/emergencies. I've made a lot of claims with them since I have an accident prone lab and I've always gotten my reimbursement check within a few weeks.
It's not cheap by any means though. We pay about $50/month for the Gold Plan ($20k/year limit) with 100% reimbursement and a $50 co-pay. But my dog is my baby and it's worth it to me knowing we are covered if something serious ever happened to him.
