For those of you getting an album from your photographer, are you designing the book? Is your photographer? How many pictures did you get to choose (I know these vary a lot...)? Did your photog give you a general idea of how many getting ready pictures to pick, how many ceremony pictures to pick, how many formals etc.?
Re: Wedding Album
Hey Mrs. S!!
My situation being a bit different I can not really comment, however when my Dad does a wedding he gives the bride the option of designing it herself or having him do it. When he does it their is then the option of the bride choosing the pictures for him to use to design or giving him full discretion of what to choose or a variation of both.
That being said you can always have one pro book and do the others with Blurb or My Publisher...
My photographer designed ours but also gives you the disk with all the pictures and lets you decide if you want to make changes to the album.
Are you having a hard time designing yours? I have my proof in my email if you want to see it to get ideas.
Hmm.. I don't think I'm much help because I'm just going to design it myself because I like doing that sort of thing.
I guess the number of getting ready pics, etc. depends on each person. I personally wouldn't use many getting ready pics but I would use a lot of the fun walking around on the street, in the grass, etc pics because I love those

thanks for the responses ladies! We will do one on MyPublisher I'm sure, but I'm specifically asking about the album the photographer makes. I think we pick something like 60 pictures (like JB) and I think he puts them together, but I don't know how to make sure that we have enough of a range of pics. I don't know if that makes sense but when we made albums in the past we switched out so many pics because another made more sense in a certain space, but we aren't able to do that when our photog is making the album. I'm rambling but it all makes sense in my head. This is when I should just smile and shake my head. Lol.
Britt, if I could steal a sneak peak of your album, that might help all of this make more sense. My email is my last name.first name@gmail.com - either maiden name or new name, I have both emails set up. Thanks girl!
We are getting an album from the photog. We get one big one for us, 2 for the moms that are the same format but smaller, and then 2 for the BM's, same format just smaller than the mom's books.
Our photog STARTED working on picking pics for the album but I stopped her. I knew she had pics of my step family and I do NOT want them in the album. Plus, I am picky as hell about what photos don't make me look like a cow. So, she let us choose them all.
Originally, she said pick 50 but I couldn't. LOL. I ended up with 64 and she said that was totally fine.
I made sure to get a few getting ready pics, detail pics, ceremony, BP, Family, and first look. And there were a couple of the cake cutting and reception.
That was the hardest part. Making sure you had what you wanted!
Oh and since I could only use so many, after I gave her the numbers for those pics, I uploaded a bunch of different pics to Shutterfly and made another pro pic album. I got it back the other day. LOVE it! And it's a lot cheaper than the Pro doing it.
It's almost here! Weeeeeeee!
