texas nestie needs a contractor rec

Hi there. My best friend is going to grad school in Atlanta and had a flood in her kitchen recently. she learned the hard way and got ripped off when it came to the emergency clean up services but that is done.

she now needs an affordable general contractor who can do some tile work, replace some carpet padding, and repair some baseboards.

can y'all recommend someone? we'll check angie's list if y'all don't have recs, but i always prefer nestie recs as a starting place! TIA!!

  • Honestly, she doesnt need a general contractor for that. She will end up paying a lot more than necessary, since that is basically all cosmetic work.

I've used a great handyman named Cal, I will dig up his phone # and send it to you. My friends have also used him a lot, and he's super reliable, and he stayed very late until the job was finished. I am a single female, and in no way did he rip me off or cheat me, which is what I've usually experienced dealing with professionals who see a single woman who "doesn't know anything".

Cal is a close personal friend of DH's. He is a former co-worker of DH's and was even at our wedding. He is a good man and he and his brothers do a great job. He's done a ton of work at our house and can be 100% trusted (I'm the uber-paranoid type when it comes to people in my house).

  • Okay, I am going to message you his number. Check your PM's.
