Hormone Problem?

Hi,

I'm having some problems and I need some advice. I have gained so much weight, I get sick, I'm really tired, and I cry often. I had a positive preg test last month but then had a blood test at my doctor and it was neg. My mom says it might be my hormones out of wack. If so, what's my next move?

If you think you have a hormonal imbalance, visit your doctor. Tell him/her exactly what you said here. They will be able to test for that sort of thing and treat you accordingly.

Are you on hormonal birth control? That can affect you in the ways you've described... maybe you should consider switching types, or going with a non-hormonal IUD.

  • I was on birth control but I had to stop because my blood pressure went crazy. I tried a non estrogen pill but I had the same effect.
  • Have your thyroid checked also. Yours possible is underactive; hence the weight gain.
  • I agree. I had blood tests done and they confirmed my hormones were low so my doc put me on progesterone and testosterone. She also tested my thyroid. Hormone imbalances can affect SO many things. You'd be surprised what can be attributed to an imbalance. You'll figure it out and it's all treatable so now worries. Best of luck!
