BF and I are having dinner with friends Saturday night, and I was asked to make dessert. Anything seasonally appropriate to recommend? TIA!
Re: dessert ideas
strawberry shortcake. mrs.BAMF once gave a link for an eclair dessert that was SO good and SO easy so you may want to check with her.
if you have a local wine store, you might be able to find a chocolate wine sauce like pinot noir chocolate or cabernet chocolate. i like to drizzle this over sliced strawberries. it's tasty, light, and easy. adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream makes it even better.
Adventures of A Girl and Her Apron
I made a really good Paula Deen trifle for the 4th of July.
Layers of blueberries & rasberries, pound cake or crushed nilla wafters and ready made cheesecake filling from the cream cheese section mixed with lemon curd. It was SOOOOOOOO good. I'll try to find the recipe online.
I know you said you know what you are going to make, but I had to suggest this recipe. It is SO good, and its a hit everywhere I take it. I use the Publix Butter Loaf rather than pound cake, but pound cake would probably be good, too. Its good with either raspberries or strawberries for the red fruit.
