I, too, met my DH while abroad in Australia. We were in Melbourne, how about you?

One of the girls on my anniversary board also met her DH when abroad in Australia, but in Sydney.

  • That is too funny!  We met on the Gold Coast.  Something about that place  :)  Don't you just love it there?  To this day "no worries" is something that I can't stop saying haha!

  • I miss it. At my school you did projects aboard, rather than taking classes. So we lived in regular apartments, commuted to "work" aka the company/organization we were doing the project for, grocery shopped, etc. It really felt like we were part of the community. It gave me such a different perspective than if I was just there on vacation. I love Melbourne as a city to live in. Did you get down there? I also went to Sydney and Cairnes (and spent a day around Port Douglas).

  • Wow!  That program sounds wonderful!  We too lived in apartments but we took classes (luckily just for pass/fail). Unfortunately I didn't get to visit Melbourne (my now husband has been).  However, I did make it to Sydney and Cairnes and absolutely loved them both.  I also went to the Whitsundays... amazing!  My only regret is not getting over to New Zealand since we were pretty close.  Someday... :)

Ditto! One of my classmates went there after we finished our projects and I wish I had had time to go too.
