Hi ladies. The week in Seattle was very busy with all the funeral arrangements. I was really happy to see over 200 people show up to celebrate my grandpa's life. The Marines even showed up to the burial and did a full military ceremony including a 21 gun salute and a bugler playing Taps. My grandpa was a Marine for 31 years and served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.
Two days prior to the funeral, a Rosary was held at my grandparents church and at least 50 people came to that.
Unforunately (and fortunately, I guess...) my aunt (my dad's only sister) was left by her husband of 3 years (their anni was the day before the Rosary...). He said she was too selfish and didn't spend enough time with him. Well, she WAS the caregiver of her dying father.... ***... Anyway, the fortunately part is that when I asked her daughter (my MOH) how she was doing, she said that my aunt was relieved. I just wished he had maybe considered that it wasn't the right time to do that, no matter if the marriage was over or not. She filed for divorce the day after the funeral (What a wonderful, strong woman to do that!).
I was so wrapped up in everything with the funeral AND school work online, I missed my flight home so I left the next day and now I am back. I won't be 100% here because I took a huge summer courseload and I am drowning in it, but I will try to check in once or twice a day.
