Remodeling Pics

Rock mentioned that she like to look at remodel pics.....so here I go. It's totally a work in progress but here are some pics of the before and demo...

This will be our guest bedroom, until we have kids

This will be the master bedroom

This is when we took all the walls down

Then we have to put the walls back up :-) This is from the corner of our master looking at the soon to be bathroom in the top center of the photo and our closet where all the tools are on the floor.

The project is such a long process (a few delays....i had surgery and DH had shingles) but we are cranking it out the past month and hope to be done by Sept. (fingers crossed ;-))

Re: Remodeling Pics

  • Are you DIYing?  Home improvement projects completely intimidate me for some reason, regardless of who's doing the work.

Can't wait to see more progress pics!

  • Yes we are doing everything that we can legally do ourselves. So basically everything but the plumbing and electrical (although DH helped with the electrical a little). Our house was a foreclosure that wasn't updated in many years, so we knew when we purchased it that we would have to but in "sweat equity." DH does the majority and I am his helper. Luckily H doesn't work in the summer so he has been getting a ton done the past month, with me helping at night and on the weekend. I'll keep the posts coming.
  • Wow, I'm so impressed!  Do you guys have experience doing projects like this?  I'm always amazed by DIYers; I wish I had the talent and patience.  Please do keep the pictures coming!

  • So exciting!  We are DIY's too!
  • Wow, I am impressed!  I can't wait to see finished pics.
  • Thanks guys!

Rock -- Growing up I always had to help my dad do different projects around our house. While I didn't like it at the time, it looks like some of his knowledge is really helping out. H also helped his dad do construction one summer. Basically we are teaching ourselves, and reading about things online or in books. We've made some mistakes, but so far so good in the long run.

came -- I would love to see projects if you have pics :-)

  • Good for you! We are totally of the same mindset - we bought a house that had already been foreclosed on and it was owned by the bank for over a year by the time we got it - so it hadn't been lived in for about a year and a half. It was a mess! We've gutted most of the house already :-P Eventually we plan to add a floor (it's a ranch).
