My mom may not come again.
I know I am being selfish since the reason that she may not visit me again is that she just got a job that she has been after since last year. She needs the stability since she is currently a taxi driver back home in the Caribbean. But I was really looking forward to spending time with my mom. I miss her so much and she was supposed to be coming on the 24th of July and the new job wants her to start August 1, 2010. So it really makes no sense. It's a driving job for a private company (transporting the employees back and forth).
I am happy for her that she got this job (and on the phone I was very cheerful and encouraging) but as it is sinking in, I am getting majorly depressed about it.
Maybe I will have to take a very short vacation to Dominica instead...

I think that's great that she got the job, but totally can understand why you would be bummed. I think a little trip to see her would be just the thing to cheer you up. And you can take me with you.
Aww, it sucks that your mom won't be coming to visit, but so great she got the job! I love Amy's icons. And I absolutely agree with her suggestion: GTG in the Dominica, anyone?

Sorry, your mom's not coming. You can go there on vacation and enjoy the nice weather and beaches. I find it's easier for me to visit family where they are.
