Woohoo! You can all be jealous of me!

Trip to Aruba is booked!  My inlaws offered to take us for a week at the end of the summer.  So we are going the week before labor day for 8 nights.  I'm so excited to get away for some r&r, and show Miles the ocean!  Plus, we have built-in babysitters.

Now I just have to lose these last 5 lbs and get a passport for the baby...

Re: Woohoo! You can all be jealous of me!

  • Awesome!!  Definitely jealous of you getting to enjoy the white sandy beaches.
  • Jealous, yes, but holy crap Miles looks like you in your siggy. It's the eyes.

  • I know, right Moo?  His eyes are a different color (his are blue, mine are green), but they are the exact same shape.

  • I'd be more jealous if you were going in cold, snowy, February, but still:  a trip to the islands is great!

I'm sure Miles will love the sand.

  • Do your ILs want to fly me out too?  You need an assistant.

  • I expect you to return with video of a tropical montage featuring Miles, with the Beach Boys' "Kokomo" as the soundtrack.

  • I'll check, Cali.  I do need someone to peel my grapes and flag the particularly interesting articles in Us Weekly for me...

  • Jealous! Have you been to Aruba before?
  • Not to rain on your parade, but you better go apply for the passport like today.  If I remember correctly, it can take up to 90 days.

  • No Jen, I haven't...My ILs go every year and a bunch of friends have gone.  Everyone says that the beaches are great and the food is fantastic.  I'm not a major beach person (mainly because I'm a step away from albino and can't be exposed to the sun for more than 3 minutes at a time, even if wearing 45 spf), but the thought of sitting in the shade and reading with a drink in my hand sounds fan-freakin-tastic to me.

Edit - Fenton, I know!  We are going this weekend.  I think we're going to have to pay to get it expedited because they can't guarantee that it will get to us within 6 weeks.
