Other long lost Nesties check in
If are haven't checked in a while, catch us up on what is going on. I know we had several ladies get new jobs so they can't Nest during the day. We want to hear from you.
Re: Other long lost Nesties check in
I don't know if you gals remember me, but I haven't posted in ages!!! I got a teaching job two weeks into the school year last summer, so it was a very hectic crazy school year, because I had NOTHING to start with I was in a 3rd/4th grade classroom, never taught 4th grade before. So the whole school year was very crazy. I have had to have two surgeries and taking care of my now 27 month old. I lurked on here once in a while but late at night, and never posted.
Now that summer is here, I am just enjoying my time with my daughter, trying to spend some time with my husband as he is working his job, at different times on different days, and getting things done around the house and not online much anymore.
I just so happened to "lurke" on her tonight and saw this. I Hope everyone is doing well.
sme - I remember seeing you on here before, welcome back! I don't post much either, but tend to go in spurts. I hope your feeling well after your surgeries too
Calvin has been keeping me super busy, but we are really enjoying our summer. It's going too quickly though! The little guy is going to be nine.months.old. next week, and I just can't believe it!
I've been busy crafting like crazy (I don't know where I think I have time to do so...). I'm working on finishing my first quilt, crocheting a stuffed animal for the babe, I have a list 15 items long of what I want to can this year, which seems a little ambitious, and we've been u-picking berries every chance we get.
Hope everyone else is doing well too
I've been a lurker since having kids.
I'm not even sure that anyone other than the girls on GR Baby board even know who I am! LOL. I had a siggy picture from 2007 too but I took it out. OOPS!
I was thinking about you the other day! How are you doing?!
As for my update, not too much to report. I've been popping in and out as work has been really busy lately. Between covering for a CW's maternity leave and getting a new supervisor, I haven't had much nesting time. Boston is doing well. DH is traveling a bit for his job lately, which is fun for him, not so much fun for me. Overall, life is pretty good.
Hiiii!!
Work is crazy, then Ben decided to break my laptop and I just got it (temporarily) fixed. I miss being home all day! I don't start my 3rd shift for another month or so, but hopefully when I do I will have a little more time to check in and chat.
Oh, and Ben is talking now - ice, up, eyes, and more are all I hear all day. Silly kid hasn't even said mama or dada yet.
:P
Ah, I'm good. Just spent 10 days "up north". It was a good relaxing time. I'm currently unemployed, but I am definitely making the most of it.
Otherwise. . . that is it, I guess.
Thanks for the updates! It's good to hear that everyone is doing well. It sounds like it is a busy summer for everyone.
GVSU, thanks for posting.
Hi, long lost Nesties! It's great to "see" you here! Thanks for checking in.
GVSU, thanks for posting this.
Hellooooo!!!! I am a total lurker! but i am here now!! i have missed everyone so much! hehe
Things are going good. School is half way done! Thank goodness! I love being in school and look forward to going for my rn but I am so exhausted! But I am so far 4.0ing everything! I am doing clinical at blodgett hospital and love it! I was in the burn unit a few weeks ago, such an amazing experience!
I have started kicking butt I running! I have done 3 5ks this summer and am doing the coast guard 5k at the end of the month! I love running! It is honestly the best stress reliever in the world! It is mine and only mine no one can take it away from me! I actually just bought a pair of the fivefinger running shoes. They are for barefoot running! I cant wait to get them and try them out!
Brody is 2 now and just spent a week and a half at rons parents up north. he had a blast and has come back a completely different child! he listens! not throwing tantrums! and talking a ton! he will sit and play and sing to himself, it melts my heart! we have gotten in to the habit of letting him sleep with us though. i don't mind it because it is the best way to wake up, having you sweet little man whisper "mommy, mommy eye" then proceed to stab you in the eye. hahaha
things on the marriage end are not the best, but i am making the best of the situation for the time being. the last almost 2 years ( since the stroke) have really open my eyes about doing things for my self and making sure that i am happy and healthy and voicing exactly what i want and not worry about what others response will be. i will have a huge decision to make once school is done, but i will figure that when i am there. concentrating on what is right in front of me, what is happening in the moment now 6 months down the rd....
Boy I wrote a novel!!! We need a GNO soon!
I think I remember you! Did you go to a GNO at a nestie's house in the dead of winter for a hair party? I was wondering what happened to you after that!
That's me! Work got craaaazy shortly after that, and I could barely find time to eat and sleep, let alone post. Then I was gone for a long time and felt weird just randomly coming back. Things have slowed down a little (finally...the past year or so has been a complete whirlwind), and then when I happened to click on this board today and saw this post, I decided it was fate and had to check in!!
It's never too late! You are always welcome to come back and post. I think all it takes is one person to remember you for it to not be weird
Oh, good! I'll stick around this time. You changed your SN, right? I recognize your picture.
I did change my SN, I wanted something a little more anonymous. MrsLastname wasn't such a good idea, especially with a name that's not very common.
Heeeeyyyyyy... you're the professor, right? Now I remember you! I didn't recognize your screenname, but now I remember you from the party.
Welcome back!
Hi!
I'm in the same boat as the person who posted for awhile and dropped off the face of the earth because of life craziness. I pop in once and awhile but never seem to have time to be very active.
I always think things are going to slow down after one thing or another, but then there's always something else waiting to pop up and claim the newly freed time.
*Sigh* Such is life though, and I really have nothing to complain about. Just wish there were more hours in the day!
