Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

I vote for Jackson because I like it when dogs have "people" names. Not that Gus and Rooney aren't, but Jackson definitely is. Plus, you can shorten it to Jack or Jackie easily when you're calling for him.
Just to throw another into the pot, how about Oliver? I think it's more Brittish than Irish, but that's what I thought of for an Irish name.

I looked at an Irish "baby" name list and thought Clancy, Dooley and Digby were cute. Sweeney might be cute too. It means "small hero." Not that he'll be small, but you said they're shorter and stockier.
