How is everyone today?
I feel much better today than I have all week. I just hope it keeps up!
Graves: did you get your camera? How is it?
Re: Happy Friday Eve
Good morning! I'm feeling pretty good myself. I think mainly because I may work an hour or two tomorrow morning and that's it. Then it's off to Grandmas in Illinois for the weekend.
I did get my camera! I love love love it! It's going to take a long time to learn it but that's ok.
Glad you are feeling better Mandy.
Happy Thursday everyone. I wasn't on at all yesterday.
I was in evaluvation meetings until 11 o'clock and then my dad called to say that his sister passed away. So I had to rush to the nursing home (she had MS and need more medical attention than we as a family could have given her) and was able to say goodbye 5 minutes before the cremation society came to pick her up. We're not having a funeral, most likely a memorial service sometime next week.
I'm glad she isn't suffering anymore and I know that she is better off than lying in a bed 24 hours a day. I just feel really guilty because I never really went to visit her that often. I have a problem with nursing homes and really want to punch people when I get there. To make matters worse she had this bruise on her head that nobody can explain. I don't know how somone who can't walk gets a bruise in the center of ther forehead.
My dad is taking it ok. Because there was a misunderstanding of communication Hospice thought the nursing home called him and vise versa, my dad missed her by 2 minutes. The same thing happened to my dad with his mom, missing her by 2 minutes. He did get to see her on Sunday, so at least his last living memory is not one of her taking her last breath.
Thank you.
I guess my dad had her signed up for hospice, they take better care of the patients if they are on hospice care. I don't understand why all patients can't be comformtable but that's for neither here nor there. They way it works, there is always someone there taking care of her and if they know she is on her deathbed, there was someone there making sure she was as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately, there were no family members there with her until after the fact.
