Earthquake in DC

Did any of you ladies feel the earthquake?  I hear it was a small one but hope everyone's ok.

Re: Earthquake in DC

  • Natasha's comments on facebook this morning had me cracking up. Apparently people are sayng they felt them (when they probably didn't really). Hahaha. She's like, "you won't get a prize for saying you did. Stop Faking". I love her!
  • I'm going to call my brother and SIL to see if they felt it!

Haha, I don't think Natasha is a friend of mine on facebook, so I haven't seen her comments.

I saw some facebook updates from non-nestie friends who said it woke them up, so I wasn't sure how bad it was.

  • I haven't heard any stories about it, but I'll be looking for some. LOL about Natasha's comment!
  • I didn't even know we had one until I saw someone's status.  Apparently it was 3.6 and caused some rumbling, but really that's about it.  I think they said the epicenter was 10 miles north of Rockville, MD meaning the epicenter of the *3.6* earthquake happened about 30 miles away from DC (Depending on where you are in the city.)  I would imagine to feel or hear a 3.6 that you'd have to be pretty close to the epicenter.  I would doubt anyone who said they felt or heard it in my area of VA.
  • I didn't even know anything about it until I saw it on FB too. I saw a couple people on FB say they felt it, but when I looked it up and saw it was in Rockville there was no way they could have felt it because they're out far like I am. I'm about 75 miles from Rockville. I talked to Steve this morning and was like if we could feel it at our house I'm a ROCK in my sleep then because I felt nothing. And I was up-ish. The alarm had already gone off by the time it hit, so I would have at least been semi-awake enough to realize the ground was shaking.

  • 3.6....Pleaseeeeee. We have those almost daily and you can't feel them. Lol. We had one that size last week in SF. I didn't even feel it.

Oh totally get it! There was a point in time that Steve wanted us to pack up and move to CA because he was sick of VA and I told him that under no uncertain terms would I live where the ground shakes haha
