(I also posted this on GP, but you ladies certainly know me better...) As you probably know, DH and I have been living with MIL since relocating to the SF Bay Area. He finally accepted a job yesterday (woo hoo!) and I start my job on Monday (again, woo hoo!). So, we bought a car:

... and are now apartment hunting. We found one yesterday that we LOOOOVE and know that there are potentially two other applicants. So, we wait anxiously for the call from the agent to tell us if we got it or not. Eep! It's so lovely, I haven't been able to think of anything else and will be so heartbroken if we don't get it. *sigh*
Also, I think I might put my real estate job on hold for a few months. I start the job with Wells Fargo on Friday, and think that I might wait until the new year to start as a realtor. This move has taken a huge dent out of our savings, so having 6 months of steady paychecks before going commission only would take away a lot of stress, even though banking is not what i want to be doing any more. thoughts?
Please send whatever vibes you can that we get the awesome apartment and that I figure out what the heck to do about work. TIA!!!
Re: Major vibes needed!
MY BLOG!
Good luck!! My fingers are crossed for you!
And I think that's totally smart to hold off on the realtor job for now- you've been through SO many changes recently, there's nothing wrong with taking things slowly. And certainly nothing wrong with building up a bit more income first either! Good luck

Crossing my fingers you get the apartment.
I think it's totally smart of you to wait a few months and build your savings back up before you jump into commission-only income.
Agreed.
AND (as a recent career changer) I think you'll find you can tolerate the banking world better when you know it is only for a limited amount of time.

Thanks ladies! We are still holding our breath on the apartment. The owner is out of town until Sunday. May the force be with me!
I think the hold-off on the real estate is all but official. It's just the right thing to do for us right now. Real estate will still be there for me in 6 months.
