The doctor said that my eggs would not let the boys in and you don't know that until you do a procedure and so now that we did a procedure we found out. George's sperm was good and he didn't see any problems with him so it was me. He said that IVF is really our main option because they can make the egg take the boys.
He gave us an option of doing Clomid, Lupron spots for 2 weeks and then IUI. Our problem with that is if the FTSP procedure didn't work and it has a 60% success rate why would an IUI work, which only has a 20-30% success rate (about the same as trying on our own). If my eggs are not letting the boys in why would they let them in after doing an IUI?
An IUI is another $4,000 and we have already spent $6,000 on the last procedure. We are not in a position to spend another $4,000 and put ourselves in $10,000 worth of credit card debt. IVF is about $15,000 or more and we can't afford that. I think the reason he suggested the IUI route is because he knew that we could not afford IVF, but I don't believe that the IUI will work.
He told us the only other option is to just keeping taking our vitamins, have sex and pray that it happens on our own. He did say that there have been cases where the month or two following a procedure people got PG because you still have the hormones in your body.
We talked tonight and we decided that we are going to do our vitamins for a few more months and try on our own. I will probably start back charting when AF shows up and I might buy some digital OPK's. We will do this probably for a few months and then go from there. I am thinking that if nothing happens by November or December then it probably wasn't meant to be.
I would never do this because I have learned my lesson about being monitored on Clomid but I was tempted to just take the Clomid and try on our own, but I won't be doing that, but I was tempted for a few minutes.
Our RE felt horrible that he even had to have this consult with us. He kept saying that he is so sorry that we are having to go through this and he wishes that it would have worked. I will have to say about that this RE has been great and figured out our problem instead of just doing IUI's after IUI's.
So that is where we are right now. We will just take our vitamins and try on our own and see what happens. Today I sorta felt we got our beta results all over again, but I can't let this get me down though. I got to believe that there is a reason for all this.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate everything!

This is probably a dumb question, but do they have anything you can take to soften up your eggs or make them more susceptible to accepting the sperm? Or have you done that already?
Hopefully you get your miracle and you and G get the baby you deserve!
