What do you think about this idea?
We recently bought and moved into our first house. We want to do some sort of housewarming party so we can have our friends and family see it. The thing is, next month I'm throwing a big birthday party for DH so I don't want to do a "party" party. I think that would be too much too close together, KWIM? So I was thinking of doing some sort of either Housewarming Happy Hour or Housewarming Brunch. That way people could come and go or stay and visit if they want.
Do you guys think either of those are good ideas? Which would you like more? Also, if these are dumb please tell me you think so. Thanks

Re: What do you think about this idea?
We combined out birthday and housewarming, but we also have birthdays in a row and it was the 30th. So that way it was one huge party (nightmare).
I like your idea better than what we did! Housewarming Open House Brunch is a good idea and less stressful (IMO).
I like the idea of a weekend brunch, because people who have plans for the evening won't have to cancel or reschedule...and it makes it easier to bring kids along if you're not drinking (which is implied with a "happy hour" in my mind)...
But, I do really like both ideas
Hope you have fun with both parties!

This and I love cooking brunch foods, so I'd choose it. For drinks, you can keep it limited to mimosas and bloody marys which are both really easy to make.
Good point! I'm not sure why I didn't think of that...
Thanks for the input everyone!
