new shoes

I seem to have gotten in the habit of buying new everyday shoes every year and three months. Apparently that's how long it takes me to totally fucck up a pair of Privos. I'm sure this will reinforce Sam's opinion that I only wear old lady shoes, because they're flat mary janes, but I walk to work most days and like that these are comfy for walking and cute enough that I don't have to change shoes once I get to work.

Also, speaking of swollen ankles...

Re: new shoes

  • Cute!  I like 'em, I would totally wear them as commuter shoes.  I'd wear them around the office, but we're a little more conservative so I have to stick to closed toe pumps.

And your ankles don't look bad at all, pretty good actually considering it is summer and you are in the home stretch.

  • I think they're kind of cute.

My physical therapist told me no more heels.  At all.  I'm completely lost and have yet to find any cute flats that I would be able to wear at work at all.  I need to recruit Mod's help.

  • That sucks, Wendy.  Do they need to be super supportive, or can you do the little ballerina flats?

  • My workplace is pretty casual, so these are more than okay. No tennis shoes (though I probably wouldn't wear them even if they were). Once I started walking (and biking, when I'm not pregnant) I stopped wearing anything other than Privos. They're so comfortable. I wore my first pair all over Oxford and London when we were walking for at least 3 hours a day and never had sore feet.

  • I almost got those in eggplant at Nordstrom Rack last week. They didn't fit my feets quite right.

  • Those are cute Lindsay. I like the first two, but I'm cheap. I am really hard on shoes so I usually can't justify spending more than say $40-$50 on shoes.

  • linds, I think I'm going to order the first pair you posted on zappos.

PT says no heels at all, ever, forever, etc. and I'm tired of shelling out $225 for Tory Burch flats with the price taq attached to the front if the shoe!  Those are really cute!

  • I have those exact shoes, except in the plain black leather instead of suede, and holy crap they are my most favorite shoes ever-- the only work appropriate shoes I could find that were really comfortable, but didn't look like huge orthopedic junkers. I finally lost one of the buttons off of one the other day, and couldn't find it. So sad in the pants.

They were my first  pair of Privos. I'm definitely going to get another.

  • Jens - these were on sale at Amazon for like half off. I know you're in Canadialand, but maybe they have a similar sale up there.

  • I love the shoes. I would wear them everyday, too. The problem I have with shoes like those is they make my feet smell. How do you get around that, especially since you walk a lot in them? Maybe I just have naturally smelly feet.

  • So cute! I love them.

  • Thanks for the tip, Noisy. I'm off to scour the internets.
  • Lisa - when I walk to work I wear socks with them, then take them off when I get to work (unless I'm wearing long jeans and socks don't look too stupid with them, then I just leave them on, but it's summer and all my maternity pants are a good 3 inches short, so socks looks incredibly dumb).

  • I never thought to wear socks with. Thanks for the tip.
