Hello? Is it me you're looking for?

Anyone spending a swingin' Saturday night at home, watching X-Files, playing Bejeweled, and browsing SB's blog? No? Just me? Okay.

We went to Houstons, then got cheesecake from the cheesecake factory next door to take home, and now we're home watching the news coverage about the collapsed apartment building parking structure in Hackensack, next to my old building.

It was date night that ended at 10p

  • I saw that yesterday! Terrifying. Where in Hackensack was it?

Today was an exciting day of Ikea shopping and scooter testing so I'm pretty wiped and thrilled to be in for the night.

Prospect Towers on Prospect Ave.  We tried to drive down Prospect and it's closed.  Can't get into your apartment.  Prospect Towers allows pets and people's pets are stuck in there.  And the people doing the clean-up hit a gas line so it's going to be days before people can even go home.
  • I'm home! Today I shopped (cute top, awesome watch, and some spanx like garment) then spent the afternoon scanning grandmas ressypees to make a cookbook for my cousins and I, and then D and I went for a special dinner at a favorite Italian restaurant. One of those places where you wait 1.5 hours for a table on a Saturday and take 2/3 of your meal home. And the food is insanely good.

  • HEY! Come talk to me or I will go away!
    image
  • P.S. How self-obsessed am I that I act like going away is the ultimate threat?
    image
  • I'm here! Don't leave me!

I miss you Bugle and hope you come to Boston.

  • Me too. Now whenever we discuss our travel plans I get very "maybe in the spring!?!"
    image
  • Please come to Boston in the springtime ... Or in the any time ...

Totally unrelated: I don't really play computer games at all. I have a very short attention span. So when everyone was playing Bejeweled, I was all "Ho hum." Now, though, I am HOOKED. Does anyone actually still play this or am I a total loser?

  • You are a loser. But I am cool for being addicted to skee ball on iPad.
    image
  • I have recently played skeeball on the iphone and loved it so I can only imagine the glory of it on the ipad. Do you launch all the balls at once?

  • Oh hey there guys!  We went out to dinner and I ate a big plate of delicious nachos.  Tthen we came home and shampooed the carpets and cleaned our bedroom.  (Of course the only place Al has had any accidents is our bedroom carpet).

Trying to get the house all in tip top shape beacause ohmygod my surgery is in 5 days!

  • Oh dear no. One at a time darling.

  • 5 days! Holy crap! Vibezzz!

  • Thanks sister moo!  Luckily I've been super busy chasing the pup around and working crazy hours trying to get everything done before I go, so I haven't spent a whole lot of time thinking about it.  Which is good, because I'm getting a little panicky.
  • How long are you looking at for recovery time? And how's the pup? Any better? He's so freakin cute.

  • Holy shiit that's come up soon. Are you scared? Excited? Eeeeeeee!
    image
  • I should be in pretty good shape and be able to get around well after a week.  I was going to take 3 weeks off, but since work has been so unpleasant, I'm thinking I'll make it 4 weeks

Al is doing ok since eating the coffee table Thursday.  Sad  We're going to start keeping him gated in the kitchen when we're not home and see how that goes.

  • I'm super scared about the actual process of the surgery.   I haven't been in a hospital since I had my tonsils taken out when I was 7.  But I'm really excited about getting through it and moving on with my teeny stomach.
  • Good for you! Enjoy your time off. My mom did the same thing. She took 3 weeks off for her gall bladder but was up and around after about a week so now she's had two free weeks to pack and get ready to move.

  • Holy crap Vicki, I knew it was coming soon but I didn't realize how soon! I hope your surgery goes really well and that recovery is a breeze.

We had a pretty good day - music class, some errands, delicious sandwiches, a haircut for Will, naps for everyone, playing in the kiddie pool in the yard, fajitas, and now Lorne and his buddy are playing video games and I'm knitting.
