Gosh it's been slow in here

Everyone pretty busy this weekend? Nothing fun to talk about?

Re: Gosh it's been slow in here

  • Agreed. It's been pretty boring around here for the past week or so.

I wanted to steal some blooms off the hydrangia (I'm pretty sure that's what they were) bushes at the OU campus in Tulsa yesterday after our adoption class thingy, but my H wouldn't let me. That's about the most excitement I've experienced all weekend... which is none. I've got lots of shiit to get done this week before we head to Tenkiller for a few days, so I'll probably be spending my day trying to get said shiit done.

We've got the Japanese students this weekend. It has been an experience, to say the least. One of them spends a good amount of time talking and laughing to himself. He paces a lot and is completely oblivious to what is going on around him. We're pretty sure that he has some kind of developmental delay, in addition to being pretty weak at the English language. DH is kind of miffed that no one gave us a heads up or that this student wasn't matched with someone better suited to his abilities, but I think that it's been a good exercise in patience for me. I really have to slow down and consider each word that I use with him.

Wow, that's kind of nuts! The situation, not the kid, I mean. I hope that they enjoy their time here! It sounds like you did a lot to make sure they did :)

I just met my sister's new boyfriend. He's really nice! They seem to complement each other well. We all played Wii Mario Bros.

Now, back to work for me. I have to get my lesson together tomorrow over the different cadences in music. Whoopie!

  • I am in my hometown of Mississippi and am bored out of my mind. My sister's wedding was yesterday (beautiful!) and my current boredom illustrates exactly why I moved away and more than likely won't return.
    Vacation
  • I've been laying by the pool all weekend. So nice :) I only have three full weeks of summer left, so I'm soaking it all up. This is my last week of my grad class, and then I have to get to work planning. Yikes!

DH and I tried a new church today, and really enjoyed it. We went to the Redhawks game and fireworks redo on Friday night with some of his grad program classmates. Been a pretty average weekend.
