Do any of you eat organic?
Hi Ladies!
I'm trying to find the best places to buy organic meats. My grocery store (hannaford) has a decent organic section, but they have no organic meats. Any suggestions?
PS: I live in Waltham, so anything close to that would be great!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
Re: Do any of you eat organic?
Thanks for the tip! There's a stop and shop near me. maybe I'll start going there. Do they have a decent organic section for other foods?
We definitely try to and New England is a fantastic area to do so, Vermont and New Hampshire had pretty solid organic/sustainable food practices before it became popular so there are many options.
Like PP have said, try Whole Foods some stores are definitely bigger than others. The one in Dedham at Legacy Place is massive. They are a bit pricier in general than most grocery stores.
Rock suggested Wilson, I've heard good things but never been myself, but it would certainly be worth trying.
We went a couple times to Don Otto's in the South End which isn't too bad if you have to head into the city for work.
Also, I know you asked about meat specifically but Waltham Fields Community Farm has an *amazing* CSA program as well. When we were in Boston I signed up for the waiting list because the shares were full for the season, and just went to farmer's markets.
If you have a Trader Joe's near you as well, they have an organic selection of meats. Pricey as well, but might not be as much as Whole Foods.
If our budget could afford it, I would shop at Whole Foods all.the.time!
Thanks Laina. I do have a TJ's near me and I find that they are definitely cheaper than Whole Foods.
Thanks! I'll check out the Bell and Evans this weekend when I make my Russo's run. Hannaford is iffy. I'm not really sure if the Nature's place meat is organic. It doesn't say it anywhere on the packaging, just 'all natural'.
I checked the Hannaford's website and the Nature's place is organic.
Definitely check out the chicken
