My best friend is married! Yaaaaay!
It was a beautiful wedding and a really wonderful weekend. We all had so much fun, but I think the *best* story of the day was this:
So, it's moments before the processional. The DJ played the ceremony music from a stereo. The first song, Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, begins and the mothers are escorted in. However, as this happens, the ring bearer turns to the venue coordinator and says "I have to go!" (yes, as in go). We're outside and a looooong walk from any of the bathrooms. So, the coordinator took him behind a tree (big redwoods, plus we were up a hill) to pee. The DJ didn't know this, and started the next song. Pachelbel's Cannon in D played for a good minute before the coordinator brought the ring bearer back and let us start to process down the aisle. It was the perfect thing to have happen because the bridesmaids were all crying before the ceremony, and that made us laugh so hard we were able to keep it together for the rest of the processional (and then cried again during the ceremony).
Here's a picture from the ceremony. I'm the fourth bridesmaid away from the bride/second from the end of the line (tall with long brown hair):
This wedding was extra special for me because not only is the bride one of my best friends (she was my MOH), but the groom and I have actually been friends the same amount of time! In fact, the groom and I were super close for a year, and somehow during that year, I never introduced him to my roommate. They met because I convinced him to help us move when we switched apartments. At first I had told him not to ask her out -- he'd been the epitome of single college bachelor and I didn't trust him. But he started to mellow out and wanted to get more serious, so I told him that if he really wanted a relationship and not a fling, then I thought he should ask for her phone number. Seven years later, here we are! I am so bummed this picture of us turned out blurry, but it's probably one of my favorites from the day:
That was my weekend! (And my last wedding for at least a year...well, as far as I know...)
Re: Wedding Recap (PIPs)
So cute about the RB!
That venue looks so great. What's with all these fabulous outdoor wedding locales in CA?? Jelz! I loved yours too, SBS.
Love your makeup!

The venue was UNBELIEVABLE. Straight out of a fairy tale/dream.
We're pretty lucky here in California. Her wedding was actually in NorCal, up in the Redwoods.
