Manic Monday

Best and Worst about your weekend (other than it's over).

Best- time with girlfriends, finishing a book while DH watched Season 4 of Dexter.

Worst- nightmares from watching the first episode of Season 4 of Dexter. I'm skipping the rest of that season and letting DH watch alone.

Re: Manic Monday

  • Best - had a really productive weekend and got a lot of stuff done around the house.

Worst - my right knee has been sore for about a week, but I've just been ignoring it for the most part because it wasn't that bad. Yesterday I was running on the treadmill and it started hurting to the point that I had to stop working out. :-(

  • Best - FINALLY getting our trip to Colombia booked. It only took us 4 weeks of procrastinating. Also, going to the Marietta Sq. farmers market with DH Saturday morning, and having fun walking around the square doing some window shopping, and watching a couple of trains.

Worst - Having a meeting on Sunday after church that took up too much of the afternoon. Also, DH being a total chatterbox last night in bed and not letting me go to sleep/giving me thoughts that disturbed my sleep off and on all night.

  • best - managed to spend only cash$ (up until we went to Ulta). Had an early dinner @ Buckhead Diner and it was so good. Set up payment to pay off 1/2 the Capital 1 CC. Went to a b-day party on Sat night and saw some very old friends. Had lots of laughs and some very "ah-haaaaaaa" moment revelations.

worst - went to Ulta. $50 & 1 heart-attack by DH later, I have 2 vats of shampoo+cond, & new makeup! And DH was actually working @10:30 on Sat night. I was horrified for him. That was so very new and unusual for his job. Turns out his boss is a bit of a workahaulic. Hmm

  • Best: spending the weekend at Jackson Lake with a couple we met on our honeymoon and a ton of their friends.  It was a fun weekend of water sports and meeting new people.  We also got in an awesome game of Cranium (which was hilarious) while it stormed yesterday!!

Worst: just feeling over all exhausted the entire weekend. Hoping to recharge my batteries soon.  We've been doing too much traveling these days.

  • Best - getting most of the house picked up. There's just a few small things left to do and it'll be ready for Friday's clean.

Worst - just not having enough time/energy to really go through my office. I gave up on the "great purge" and we threw it all in the closet. I'll try to tackle it one box at a time at some point. All the cleaning really makes me want new furniture, yesterday. We're aiming for next spring. *sigh*

  • Best: the Planet Earth concert (even though it rained like crazy) and having LOTS (and I mean lots) of SG Wink

Worst: the headache I've had for the past day.

  • Best: Getting third in yesterday's mountain bike race. Going to Happy Hour Sat. night w/DH and getting to see some friends we haven't seen in a while.

Worst: Being bored Friday night for no reason at all. Dinner at the Buckhead Diner wasn't all that great for us.

  • best - seeing my hubby, finding out he hopefully comes home on wednesday, mani/pedi with my mom on sat--her treat

worst - my phone dying...and i mean dead...couldn't have happened at a worse time. i have to go buy one on my lunch break

  • best: getting our upstairs living room fixture changed from an ugly bright brass fan, to a nice bronze chandelier...now to get it changed to a dining room!

worst: cutting the grass yesterday....the heat + humidity + the fact that we have a push mower that's not self-propelled means i got WAY too hot.

  • Best: DH surprising me with a new Macbook Pro. I've been drooling over them for ages. Now I have to move all my stuff from my old pc to my shiny new mac. Also going to see the Fox with Dh's mom and siblings and my Mom

Worst: (I may be flamed) I didn't really like the Phantom of the Opera. The dude was a creeper, the music sounded really 80's and I wasn't a fan of the singing almost every-single-word. On the other hand the sets were gorgeous along with the costumes. BTW I went knowing nothing about the show.

  • Best: the Planet Earth concert (even though it rained like crazy)

I'm jealous! I think DH and I would have enjoyed this more than the Shakespere play Love's Labour Lost that we went to (though it was done well; it didn't stand out to us. We really loved Midsummer's Night Dream last year)

It was really pretty fantastic, and I love thunderstorms, so the thunder and lightning didn't bother me, but when it started raining sideways into the amphitheatre and everyone got wet it got a little loud. There were a group of girls who kept screaming when the lightning would strike, so it killed it a little. They took a 20 minute intermission during the bad part of the storm because of the huge metal structure over everyones heads lol, and once it calmed down, it was back to normal.

If this is the first time you saw Phantom, I'm not surprised you had that reaction. It really is a product of the mid-80's. Also, the current productions get bigger and "more" (in a bad Hollywood way). I love the Phantom, but that's becuase the first time I saw it was on PBS when I was a teenager, and it was the original London Cast. The original was more subdued, and focused on the quality of the music (it is about opera, after all), than on special effect and "wow factor". As much as I love Phantom, the last couple times I saw it, I was pretty disapointed in how they jazzed it up, so I skipped it this time. Hopefully when they revive it in a decade, they will go back to a more original interpretation.

(wow, that's a paragraph.)(I just totally geeked out there)

SO funny :)  ps- you might want to avoid any future traveling productions of Cats, as it has that same 80s vibe.

Worst: spent 4+ hours in the car both days.
