I took a much needed, although short, vacation the last two days of last week. This morning, when I get in everything on my desk has been rearranged, half my files are missing, the files that are left are all filled out wrong and someone swiped all my pens. I can live with the files and the desk rearrangement... but they took my pens!!!
Then... my shop manager (I work in the construction field) tells me that the two owners proceeded to blame everything on me during my absence, AND tell customers things were my fault. Real professional, huh?!
I think I may smother my boss.
Re: I may smother my boss
That's awful! I'm sorry!
I'm thankful to have a boss that adores me and has my back but this happened to me last week:
I broke down in the bathroom to hide my tears from people. I did my job, what my boss asked me to do, and delivered all of my work on time. But a manager in another division took it upon himself to get frustrated with me, and made me feel un-appreciated and like all the work I had done didn't matter because his communication with my boss had not come through to me. That's not my fault. It's his job to make sure that he is clear with my boss about what he wants and what is expected of the marketing dept. How am I supposed to read his dern mind? Anyways.... that made for a really crappy afternoon at work. But my boss had my back and it was taken to the VP of the company who had the manager call and apologize to me.
I hope things get better for you - Is there someone higher than your boss you can take that information to??
I totally feel for you on that one. I've done my share of crying in the bathroom with this job. However, my boss only has my back when she's stabbing something into it. I work in a super small office (I'm the only office person besides the two owners), so I have very few options when I get "thrown under the bus" so to speak. It's the food chain I guess.
I just keep telling myself... only 9 more weeks (and then I'm quitting and going to school full time!!!)
I'm so sorry to hear that! Good luck quitting and going back to school - I plan on doing that at the end of this year, as long as I get pregnant. (: Wish you the best!
