It's becoming clearer.
I'm starting to think I didn't land my new job based on my pure awesomeness. I may just be the lesser of two evils.
I just sat down tonight to read a stack of about 20 resumes for my replacement.
Let's weed out some people, shall we?
The guy who said in his cover letter, "I have been fortunate enough to have the ability to know myself a bit better during this past year. I've made several life changes including, dissolving nonworking relationships, finding out ways to eliminate stress by restructuing my thoughts and finding out ways to help others do the same, and relocating to Town while rebuilding personal relationships and reasssing goals.'The girl who added an extra word to the title of the position and who referred to "office type settings and office type environments."
The girl who had extensive experience with a broad range of professional and administrative "potions"
The guy who can easily "adapt to your company and it's business practices"
Some who used such canned and corny objectives such as "To use the professional skills developed through education and experience as an Title with Company"
None of them have a decent looking resume or cover letter at all. Don't most colleges have a career center where they help with resume writing? :-/ A friend to proofread?
