I went to the Dr a few weeks ago, b/c I have been working out 4 days a week, eating healthy and havent lost a darn thing! He ran blood work, and such. Everything was fine, still puzzled and frustrated I decided to start writing down EVERYTHING I eat, well after 1 week of doing that, I lost 4lbs this week! Its funny once you have to be accountable to a piece of paper, how things change. Thanks for letting me share!
Re: Can I AW for a second?
Congratulations! I know losing weight can be challenging and frustrating at times but think about how fabulous you're going to look
So does writing down everything you eat help you count calories or in what way has it helped in ways other things have not? I'm curious because I think I'm plateuing (again..ugh!) on my weight loss journey.

Well I'm really not counting calories or anything, just writing things down. But it helps b/c I dont want to write down ice cream, so I have opted for yogurt and fruit. Funny how its working, its like I by writing it down I have to be honest to myself. I think I eat fairly healthy to begin with. I dont do fast food, I eat fruits/vegs/whole grains/white meats, and TONS of water. But by writing it down, it always help me to look and see ok, I've had my fruit for today, I need to up my veggie intake, that sort of thing.
Totally rambling, hope this makes sense, in a hurry to go get my hair cut.
Nice!!! I'm plateauing again too and it is REALLY frustrating - so to lose 4 lbs is WOW!!! in my book.
I've done the journaling thing before too and it really did help me recognize how some extra snacking was sneaking it's way into my diet - such as munching on things I'm chopping up to cook in dinner. Writing down why I was eating something that wasn't part of a designated meal was epiphany-worthy.
Good for you!
I, too, have found that journaling my food results in better weight loss. It keeps you honest, keeps you mindful of portion sizes, and reduces mindless eating. WW feels it is one of the most important keys to weight loss success and I am inclined to agree. "If you bite it, write it."
Keep up the good work!
